This stout well marked heifer has a look anyone can appreciate. A genetic gem and one of the first Double Your Miles heifers to sell , she also sports Game Changer and 308R, a dam of distinction, in her pedigree!

2020 is a year of new beginnings. 

One of the most exciting events for us is the addition of Ben Diekevers to our staff as herdsman. A long time family friend, Ben has been part of the workings at GMF for decades. As an opportunity arose to ask Ben to be a more formal part of the Grand Meadows family, we felt adding him was a logical move. 

While “herdsman” may be an apt title, he has been part of the general running and maintenance fo the farm for some time. He has, and continues to make a difference here. 

We welcome him and his wife Kendra!

Grand Elexis 40C – Sells!

Some may have been wondering how the summer is going at GMF.

We, like most of the midwest have had a wet spring, and a late summer. Living in the river bottom has its challenges, and this year is no different.

Pasture management and flooding have been a big concern. Early grass was plentiful , though, and the cattle are happy

This is a Double Your miles calf out of a first calf heifer. Bretten raised this calf as a bottle baby, and showed him as a feeder. Now, his hard work and perseverance have paid off! Congratulations!

One of the first Double Your Miles calves to sell!

As with any successful enterprise, a time comes when one needs to “right size” their operation.

As we have grown, so has our herd, and our bull battery. This comes at a time when our resources of time, space, and energy are in a sort of “adjustment mode”.

And so, we have decided to offer three of our mature herd bulls for sale. Several of these bulls have contributed considerably to our  genetic base, and we would like to share their value while they are still relevant.
